March 27, 2026Dear Valued Clients,
We want to make you aware of an upcoming change that may affect how payments are made to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
What Is Changing?
Effective December 1, 2026, paper-based CRA payment forms available to use at financial institutions will no longer be available. As a result, individuals and businesses will need to use alternative payment methods, primarily electronic options.
How EBT Is Responding
To ensure our clients continue to have a convenient and supported way to manage CRA and government payments, EBT has partnered with Remitian, a Canadian payment platform designed specifically for this purpose.
This solution will allow us to continue providing the level of support and service many clients rely on for their government payment obligations.
What Happens Next?
No action is required at this time.
Over the coming weeks, we will proactively reach out to clients for whom we currently facilitate CRA payments through post-dated cheques. Our goal is to ensure a seamless transition and maintain the high level of service and support you have come to expect from EBT.
For clients interested in a more streamlined and modern payment experience, please contact your EBT advisor to learn more about our partnership with Remitian and the solutions available.
We will continue to share information as details become available and keep clients informed of any future changes.
If you have any questions, please contact your EBT advisor.
